Vera Wang has never been a name to watch, it’s been a name to wear, and the Vera Wang Fall collection is no exception to that rule. In a few other pieces, I’ve mentioned this ‘new minimalist‘ trend that is emerging this fall, and I do hope you’ve been paying attention, for in Vera Wang’s collection, the new minimalist theme is brought to life with a deliciously classical style that puts me in mind of Audrey Hepburn (though she’d probably insist on a pair of silk gloves, if I know her, which of course, I don’t.)

In celebration of the fact that they exist, French Connection are re-launching the line they first launched in 1972 in a wild expression of minimalist vintage that will fit into both the vintage and new minimalist trends that are sprawling all over the catwalks this fall.
Garage Sale Grunge from Funktional
Jennifer Park founded Funktional based on her continued assertions that she couldn’t function, which of course, turned out to be fairly inaccurate given that in less than 12 months she founded a major fashion label that has been worn by starlets like Rihanna. (Of course, Rihanna will wear pretty much anything she comes across, as far as I can tell.) My guess is that Jennifer was one of those kids in school who always said that they’d failed a test directly after taking it, and then got A’s.

Paris is the fashion capital of the world, a city of dreams and inflated expectations so damaging that every year, several Japanese tourists are carted off to the loony bin with broken hearts upon discovering that Paris is just another city full of humans. Andrea Lieberman’s Parisian collection is like Paris in a lot of ways, it incites admiration, but also leaves one feeling a little personally wanting. If one does not manage one’s expectations, one could be disappointed, but if one is willing to look beyond the cliché and spy true value, one will be exceptionally pleased.

If you don’t already visit the Vogue.com website, you really should. It’s fashion in the raw. Sure, the magazine is nice with all its glossy pages and epic ads, but the website adds a certain je ne sais quoi with its fashion trends section that is ominously without a lot of words, but with a great deal of pictures.
